Mars Whisky 'Iwai' Sakura Cask Japanese Whiskey NV

A seasonal Japanese blended whisky from Mars Shinshu, crafted as part of the Iwai Tradition series and finished in Sakura (cherry blossom wood) casks for a short secondary maturation. The base whisky is a blend of corn and malted barley, initially matured in a mix of ex-bourbon and other traditional oak casks before finishing in uniquely constructed sakura wood vessels sourced from a Japanese cooperage.

The cherry wood finish adds a distinctly aromatic lift, layering floral tones over the softer grain-driven base spirit. Gentle notes of cherry blossom, light spice, and delicate red fruit emerge alongside a rounded, subtly sweet malt core.

The result is a smooth, approachable whisky where classic Iwai softness meets a fragrant, seasonal Japanese wood influence, finishing light, floral, and slightly sweet with a gentle spice fade.
