"Finely curated, with a focus on small producers from lesser-known regions, and the staff are impressively knowledgeable."- Manhattan's Coolest Wine Stores, The Financial Times
$120.00
A rare old-vine Cabernet Franc from Touraine, sourced from the historic Clos de Maulevrier, where ungrafted “franc de pied” vines have survived since before the phylloxera epidemic. The vineyard is worked with a focus on preserving these deep-rooted, pre-industrial plantings, which bring unusual concentration and authenticity to the fruit.
Vinification is traditional and restrained, allowing native yeast fermentation and gentle extraction to emphasize site over winemaking imprint. Aging in neutral oak helps preserve clarity while giving the wine time to settle into its naturally structured frame.
The result is a lean, energetic Loire red defined by red berries, herbal lift, and a distinctly stony, mineral edge. Tannins are fine but firm, giving shape to a style that is more linear and intellectual than plush, with a rustic elegance that reflects both its vintage character and ancient vines.
