A refined unfortified white wine from the Macharnudo Alto vineyard in Jerez, made under the M. Ant. de la Riva project, which revives historic Palomino sites through a modern, terroir-focused lens. The fruit comes from albariza soils—pure chalk that gives both tension and aromatic lift—and is harvested from carefully selected old parcels.
Vinification is deliberately restrained: hand-harvested grapes are gently pressed and fermented with native yeasts in neutral oak, with a short period of aging under a light veil of flor in some cuvées, adding subtle complexity without shifting the wine away from its still, dry identity.
The result is a precise, deeply mineral white defined by lemon zest, green almond, crushed oyster shell, and white stone fruit. There’s a saline, chalk-dust edge throughout, giving shape and length rather than weight. Focused, linear, and quietly intense, it reflects both the historic Macharnudo terroir and the new-wave interpretation of Jerez. whites.
