"The 2009 Vinha Barrio is also the current vintage of this vineyard of Baga from chalky-clay soil in a lower zone of the village of Óis do Barro that tends to have more acidity and more elegant tannins. The vines were 10 years of age then. The destemmed grapes fermented in plastic bins without temperature control, and the wine matured in used 650-liter French oak barrels for two years. It has 13.6% alcohol and 5.6 grams of acidity. It has a note of iron, reminiscent of rusty nails, blood and fresh meat, with some earthiness. It has a medium-bodied palate with abundant, slightly dusty fine tannins and a dry finish. 1,650 bottles produced. It was bottled in September 2012."-LG, The Wine Advocate 12/2024
