Lelie van Saron Chardonnay Upper Hemel-en-Aarde Valley 2022

"Clocking in just under 13% alcohol, the 2022 Chardonnay begins with a pleasantly aromatic nose of white peach and sweet citrus before elements of key lime and green apple skin waft from the glass. Medium-bodied, the palate offers notions of sautéed almonds before displaying bright, energetic acidity that beams across the mid-palate, ending with a food-friendly and succulent finish. Only 4,500 bottles were produced. The wine saw aging in a mix of concrete tanks and older oak barrels." -AM, The Wine Advocate 12/2023
