Holmes Cay Travellers Distillery 2006 Single Cask 16-Year Belize Rum

A single cask Belizean rum from Travellers Distillery, selected and bottled by Holmes Cay after 16 years of full tropical maturation in ex-bourbon oak. Distilled from molasses on a traditional column still, it reflects a long, uninterrupted aging process in Belize’s hot, humid climate, which drives deep concentration and rapid wood integration.

The extended tropical aging builds a rich, layered profile where caramelized sugar, dried stone fruit, and vanilla sit alongside darker tones of cocoa, toffee, and baking spice. Despite its strength, the structure remains surprisingly composed, with oak providing both weight and a drying, slightly tannic frame.

The result is a bold yet balanced cask-strength rum, combining ripe fruit sweetness with savory spice and a long, warming finish marked by oak, cocoa, and lingering tropical fruit depth.
