From ninety-year-old Aligoté vines planted on deep clay-limestone soils in the south of the Côte de Beaune, this 2021 bottling by Élodie Roy displays a translucent straw-yellow robe with silver flashes. Aromas of white flowers, fresh orchard fruit (pear, green apple) and a light hint of brioche from subtle oak aging lead into a palate that is lively yet gracefully textured. The minerality comes through with chalky drive, balancing the gently rounded mid-palate and delivering a crisp, citrus-tinged finish. Pure, focused and expressive of its old-vine origins.
