Alvina Pernot's 2023 Clos de la Garenne is a thrilling wine with concentrated aromas of passionfruit and pomelo, a hint of smoky reduction and some classic flinty mineral notes typical of Puligny. Despite the abundant freshness, the texture is rich and the finish is impressively long. The grapes from Alvina's share of the Pernot family vines were picked early, starting on 27 August; they were pressed as whole clusters and given a fairly reductive treatment in older casks.
