Average age of the vineyard: 40 years. The Commandery is the result of a blend of the best terroirs, all located on the 3rd terraces (High terrace of Mindel). These are thin soils of very old gravelly, clayey-siliceous alluvium.

The Commandery is characterized by its elegance and finesse. It develops a complex bouquet combining ripe fruits, violet, toasted and vanilla aromas. Its finesse allows it to be appreciated from the first years. For lovers of more mature wines, it will easily support a 15 to 20 year aging, or even more." -Winery notes
