Dear Friends and Wine Lovers,
We are pleased to announce another very special wine dinner...

Domaine Paul Jaboulet Aîné
Hermitage La Chapelle Vertical Dinner

Thursday, May 17th at 7:00pm
Geoffrey Zakarian's Country
Carlton Hotel - 90 Madison Avenue

Join James Beard Award Winner Jean-Luc Le Dû for an intimate dinner and vertical wine tasting of Domaine Jaboulet's greatest and rarest wine - Hermitage La Chapelle.

The Hermitage hill is one of the greatest vineyard sites in the world where wines have been grown for so long that they were mentioned by both Pliny and Martial, hundreds of years before vines grew in the Médoc. Over the centuries, La Chapelle has achieved iconic status as the quintessential expression of the Syrah grape.

Geoffery Zakarian Chef Geoffery Zakarian from Country has prepared an exceptional 4-course tasting menu to accompany the following vintages: 1988, 1990, 1991, 1994, 1995, 1997, 1999 and 2003. Dinner in a private room will be preceded by a short seminar on Northern Rhône wines with a focus on Hermitage.

Seating is extremely limited...
Price is $420 per person including tax & gratuity.
Please RSVP to Andy or call 212-924-6999

Qupé Marsanne 2005

Qupé Marsanne The day before our Au Bon Climat/Qupé dinner last week, the winemakers Jim Clendenon and Bob Lindquist stopped by our store to share some wine. One bottle that knocked us out was Bob's 1994 Qupe Marsanne. It had evolved superbly, like a white Châteauneuf du Pape displaying beautiful marzipan, pit fruit flavors and a wonderful waxy texture. So, it wasn't surprising that among the most popular wines we served at the dinner was... the 2005 Qupé Marsanne. Its blend of 84% Marsanne and 16% Rousanne has the "wet stone" minerality, almonds and honeyed citrus character we look for in classic white Rhône blends with one major difference... the price.

A white wine that sells for under $20, that tastes great now but can also be cellared... sounds like your summer white for the next decade!

Our shelf price for the Qupé Marsanne 2005 is $20.99
Buy 6 bottles and pay $18.89 a bottle!
Buy 12 bottles and pay $17.84 a bottle!
Free delivery in New York State for a case!

This sale ends on Sunday April 22nd. Please order on-line or by e-mailing us at sales. Alternatively, if you would prefer to speak with a human, call us on 212-924-6999
