"Remember gentlemen, it's not just France we are fighting for, it's Champagne!" - Winston Churchill
Champagne is one of the most captivating and enchanting wines in the world. Sparkling wine is produced in many countries, but
none have the cachet of those from the Champagne region of France. In this special seminar we will explore how the time-honored and difficult techniques of grape
blending, remuage, degorgement, dosage and the distinctive chalky soil give each bottle of Champagne its unique character.
We are honored to welcome Lisa Granik MW as our special guest lecturer. Lisa is one of only 24 Americans to pass the difficult and rigorous Master of Wine exam which indicates an extremely high standard of professional knowledge.

Burgundy Master Seminar with Jean-Luc Le Dû
Wednesday, May 30th - $225
Burgundy is the home to the most ethereal, sensual and compelling wines in the world. Its "terroir" speaks through the grapes to produce Chardonnay and Pinot Noir
so delicate and seductive when young and yet extraordinarily complex and layered when mature. We have assembled some of the greatest Grand Cru and Premier Cru
Burgundies from top producers from a variety of vintages to share with you at this "once in a lifetime" wine tasting experience. Here's what we'll be pouring...
Montrachet Grand Cru - Fontaine Gagnard 2004

Bonnes Mares Grand Cru - Domaine Robert Groffier 2003
Romanée St Vivant Grand Cru - Domaine de la Romanee Conti 2002

An Introduction to French Country Wines with Jean-Luc Le Dû
Wednesday, June 13th - $70
While the world famous regions of Bordeaux, Burgundy and the Rhône Valley are considered the gold standard in wine production, France also offers a trove of great
wines from lesser known areas. We are calling this seminar "an introduction to French Country Wines" for a lack of a better term. It is really doing a disservice to the
superb wines we will be showcasing as they give more famous wines from around the world a run for their money. Get ready to be surprised, shocked and won over by
this bunch of unknowns!
Terroirs of Napa Master Seminar with Lisa Granik MW
Wednesday, June 20th - $115
The Napa Valley contains the premier vineyards in the United States. In this master seminar we will explore the stylistic differences between the Rutherford,
Stags Leap, Oakville and St. Helena AVA's... Our guest lecturer will again be Lisa Granik MW who has selected her favorite bottles from each AVA to share with us,
including including Dominus, Opus One, Nickel & Nickel and Philippe Melka.
Lisa Granik MW is one of only 24 Americans to pass the difficult and rigorous Master of Wine exam which indicates an extremely
high standard of professional knowledge.
France vs. America with Yannick Benjamin
Wednesday, June 27th - $75
Join us for a classic old world - new world showdown as we delve into the different terroirs and wine making practices of France and the United States. We will sample
the noble varietals Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah and Viognier from each country, then compare and contrast how the different viticultural and vinification techniques
employed help create the flavors in the glass.
How To Taste Wine with Yannick Benjamin
Wednesday, July 11th - $60
We've offered this seminar before but found it so essential we decided to repeat it because it will help fine tune your palate and dramatically increase your
drinking pleasure. Tasting wine involves three senses (sight, smell and taste) that identify four primary components (sugar, alcohol, acid and tannins). Once you develop
the skills to distinguish those elements a whole new world will open up as your senses will be heightened and you will be able to communicate more eloquently about
the flavors you taste... Learn to taste like a professional, without any preconceptions.
All wines will be tasted blind for this seminar which will be taught by Yannick Benjamin, who finished 2nd in the "Best Sommelier in
America" competition and first in the blind tasting portion.
Event Cancellation Policy...
Payment is required in full at time of reservation to guarantee a seat. Cancellations received less than two weeks but more than five days prior
to each seminar will be refunded with store credit only. Cancellations received within five days of each seminar will not be refunded.
