We are pleased to announce our first wine dinner of 2007...
Piedmont Winemakers Dinner
Thursday, January 11th at 7:00pm
Gabriel’s Bar and Restaurant
11 West 60th Street – across the street from the Time Warner Center

Piedmont is Italy’s pre-eminent wine area, birthplace to the kings of Italian wine, Barolo and Barberesco. Located at the base of the Alps, it is a region of small wine estates tenderly cared for by dedicated craftsman. We have invited four of the Piedmont winemaker elite to join us for an unforgettable food and wine experience. Each winemaker will be bringing his best bottles which will be expertly paired by Jean-Luc Le Dû with the handmade pastas and grilled meats at Gabriel’s.

Gabriel’s has received two stars from the New York Times. In the review Ruth Reichl wrote ..."when people ask me where I’d like to eat, I find myself thinking of Gabriel’s. It’s not just that the service is so charming and that the food is so appealing but also that in a city filled with impersonal restaurants conceived by corporations and controlled by accounting departments, Gabriel’s feels as if it is run by real people."

Seating is limited for this dinner, so please reserve early.

APERTIF

Moccagatta - Chardonnay 'Langhe' 2005 - winner of "uno bichieri" 4 times

APPETIZERS
Roasted Sweet Peppers marinated with Olive Oil, toasted Garlic and Oregano. Served with Buffalo Milk Mozzarella.
Grilled Portobello Mushroom with Robiola Cheese, Micro Greens and Pesto.
Salt-cured Tuna thinly sliced and finished with Pistachio Vinaigrette. Served with a bed of Field Mache and roasted Beets.

Albino Rocca - Barbera d'Alba 'Gepin' 2004 - winner of "due bichieri" 5 times.

PASTA
Tortelloni filled with Gorgonzola and tossed in dried Porcini Mushroom Glaze with crisp Panchetta.
Ravioli Zucca, pasta filled with caramelized Butternut Squash, tossed in Brown Butter and Sage.
Potato Gnocchi with Red and Yellow Cherry Tomatoes, slow cooked with Garlic, Basil and Parmesan Cheese.

MAIN COURSE
Wood Grill

Tuna Steak with fresh Horseradish, sautéed Spinach, and a puree of dried Fava Beans and Sun-dried Tomatoes.
Marinated Lamb Chops drizzled with Lemon Honey, served with Fingerling Potatoes and Baby Artichokes.

Sauté and Roast
Quail stuffed with Porcini Mushrooms and Ricotta Cheese, topped with a Pomegranate Seed reduction. Served with Potato Au Gratin.

DESSERTS
Warm Chocolate Truffle Cake. Soft-hearted Cake with Grand Marnier, Vanilla Gelato, and Passion Fruit Sauce.
Italian Style Rice Pudding, with Mascarpone and flavored with Vanilla and Cinnamon.
Pear Tart, Rum caramelized Pears with a Coconut Short Bread Crust. Served with Vanilla Gelato.

Event Cancellation Policy
Payment is required in full at time of reservation to guarantee a seat. Cancellations received less than one week but more than three days prior to each seminar will be refunded with store credit only. Cancellations received within three days of each seminar can not be refunded.
