Dear Friends and Wine Lovers,
The hill of Hermitage in the Northern Rhône is home to the greatest Syrah, Marsanne and Roussanne in the world, and Marc Sorrel is one
of its superstars. His wines are among the most sought after in the appellation, mentioned in the same reverent breath as Chave, Chapoutier
The Le Dû’s Wine Salon is proud to present...
Hermitage - A Winemaker's Seminar - with Marc Sorrel and Jean-Luc Le Dû
Wednesday, November 1st - 6.30-8pm - $90
Marc Sorrel’s style is unquestionably old-school, 75 year old vines, extremely low yield, no de-stemming and
long maceration in wood vats, so his wines showcase Syrah’s fleshy, gamey, bloody side. His whites are 95% Marsanne and 5% Roussanne from
the oldest vines in Hermitage. They are very distinctive with scents of herbs, minerals, nuts and peaches. Northern Rhône fanatics love their
undeniable terroir expression.
Since great Hermitage - both white and red - is judged by how it ages, you will have the unique opportunity
to do a side-by-side vintage comparison of the following five wines...
Crozes-Hermitage Blanc - 2004 & 1999
Hermitage Blanc - 2004 & 1998
Hermitage ‘Les Rocoules’ Blanc - 2004 & 1998
Hermitage Rouge - 2004 & 1999
Hermitage ‘Le Gréal’ Rouge - 2004 & 1990
The older vintages are from Mr. Sorrell’s personal cellar and will not be for sale. Seating is limited to 12
people, so please reserve early to avoid disappointment. For reservations call 212-924-6999 or e-mail
