Dear Friends and Wine Lovers,

People are still talking about the free in store tasting we did with Wine Enthusiast's "Winemaker of the Year," Olivier Humbrecht, back in January. His wines were showing beautifully and we had a huge crowd, including many superstar sommeliers anxious to meet and taste with the man Robert Parker has described as "maybe the finest wine maker in the world."

We felt privileged when Olivier returned to the shop the other week to show us the latest releases from his superlative 2005 vintage and once again we were knocked by the expressive, lush, precise flavors he extracts from his grapes. It was difficult to pick our favorites from the dozens of wines he produces but we chose a few winners that are must haves for your collection.

Muscat "Goldert" 2005 - $53.99
Pinot Gris "Thann" 2005 - $35.99
Pinot Gris Rangen de Thann "Clos-Saint Urbain" 2005 - $100.99
Gewurtztraminer "Heimbourg" 2005 - $62.99
Riesling "Brand" 2005 - $100.99
Riesling Rangen de Thann "Clos-Saint Urbain" 2005 - $102.99

An Introduction to French Country Wines with Jean-Luc Le Dû
Wednesday, June 13th - $70

French Country While the world famous regions of Bordeaux, Burgundy and the Rhône Valley are considered the gold standard in wine production, France also offers a trove of great wines from lesser known areas. We are calling this seminar "an introduction to French Country Wines" for a lack of a better term. It is really doing a disservice to the superb wines we will be showcasing as they give more famous wines from around the world a run for their money. Get ready to be surprised, shocked and won over by this bunch of unknowns!

Terroirs of Napa Master Seminar with Lisa Granik MW
Wednesday, June 20th - $115

Napa Valley Once again we are honored to welcome guest lecturer Lisa Granik MW as we explore the different AVAs of the Napa Valley. Lisa has selected some of her favorite bottles from the most famous producers to small boutique winemakers that represent the diverse styles and terroirs available in the Napa Valley.

Lisa Granik MW is one of only 24 Americans to pass the difficult and rigorous Master of Wine exam which indicates an extremely high standard of professional knowledge.

France vs. America with Yannick Benjamin
Wednesday, June 27th - $75

France vs USA Join us for a classic old world - new world showdown as we delve into the different terroirs and wine making practices of France and the United States. We will sample the noble varietals Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah and Viognier from each country, then compare and contrast how the different viticultural and vinification techniques employed help create the flavors in the glass.

How To Taste Wine with Yannick Benjamin
Wednesday, July 11th - $60

Tasting We've offered this seminar before but found it so essential we decided to repeat it because it will help fine tune your palate and dramatically increase your drinking pleasure. Tasting wine involves three senses (sight, smell and taste) that identify four primary components (sugar, alcohol, acid and tannins). Once you develop the skills to distinguish those elements a whole new world will open up as your senses will be heightened and you will be able to communicate more eloquently about the flavors you taste... Learn to taste like a professional, without any preconceptions.

All wines will be tasted blind for this seminar which will be taught by Yannick Benjamin, who finished 2nd in the "Best Sommelier in America" competition and first in the blind tasting portion.

For reservations call us on 212-924-6999 or e-mail Andy.
All Seminars run from 6:30-8:00pm and are held in the store.
15% discount on any three seminars.

We hope to see you here...

Jean-Luc Le Dû.
